Jan 29, 2026 - FASSelangor FC collected all three points in Matchday Four of the ACC Shopee Cup™ after securing a 2-0 victory over Cong An Ha Noi FC at MBPJ Stadium yesterday, a result that lifted the Red Giants back to the top of Group A with eight points.
The first half was evenly contested, with both teams creating opportunities in their search for the opening goal. After the break, Selangor FC increased the tempo and broke the deadlock in the 60th minute through Faisal Halim, who reacted sharply to finish after Alvin Fortes’ effort was blocked and the loose ball fell kindly in his path. Selangor FC continued to control possession and dictate play before Faisal Halim doubled the advantage in the 69th minute, converting Hugo Boumous’ pass with a composed strike from outside the penalty area. Both goals were successfully defended until the final whistle, ensuring a deserved victory for the home side.
Selangor FC Head Coach Kim Pan-gon praised the players’ discipline but stressed the importance of maintaining focus as the team targets a place in the semi-finals.
“This was a very important home match. The players showed great discipline and determination throughout the game, and their performance deserves praise as they worked hard to deliver a victory for the supporters. Step by step, we are building Selangor FC’s identity and style of play, and this win reflects that positive progress. I would like to congratulate all the players and thank the Red Giants supporters for creating a wonderful atmosphere at the stadium yesterday,” said Kim Pan-gon.
“However, this is not the end of the tournament and we must remain calm and focused. Some important changes were made at half-time, which helped the team become more organised and aggressive. Our objective is to reach the semi-finals, and we will prepare thoroughly for the next match. We will continue to give our best performances here at MBPJ Stadium for the supporters, with the hope that this spirit becomes the culture and identity of the team,” he added.
